Fall Art Courses 2011

Today I’m writing to tell you about the fall art courses I will be offering at Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre. The first one starts next week so register ASAP! To register call Westshore Parks and Recreation at 250-478-8384 or register online at www.westshorerecreation.ca

Here are the details:

All You Can Art

All new activities! Beginners and experienced adventurers will enjoy this smorgasbord of introductory art projects using a new medium each session. Learn drawing, painting and mixed media art techniques from an enthusiastic instructor.

Dates: 8 sessions, Wednesdays, Sept. 14 – Nov. 2, 2011

Times: 7 pm to 9 pm

Materials to bring: smock or apron, large glue stick, interesting papers and collage materials, photos/objects you want to draw or paint

Printmaking for Christmas

Learn the basics of relief printmaking – linocut, monoprints, carve your own rubber stamps. No previous experience required. Use your newfound skills to create gorgeous limited edition art prints for your friends and family! Also create handmade rubber stamps, seasonal cards, wrapping paper and gift tags.

Dates: 5 sessions, Wednesdays, Nov. 16 – Dec. 14, 2011

Times: 7 pm to 9 pm

Materials to bring: smock or apron, simple black and white images, linocut tool set, brayer/roller, plexiglass sheet 16×20 inches
