Last Minute Invitation

2010 – 5×7 inches. Linocut printmaking on paper with acrylic paint.

Things are a little crazy at  my house right now! My studio is completely packed into boxes. The room is empty, so empty it echoes! We’re moving to Langford at the end of the month. We are really looking forward to enjoying our new home! I think I’m most excited about the yard and all the nature surrounding the place. My new studio will be very nice too. It has a skylight! And two doors that open to the outside! I bet I’ll be doing some outdoor projects too, like papermaking, large mural painting, sculpting and carving. Pretty exciting!

Because our lives have been upside down with stress, renovations, and packing, packing, packing, I have neglected to update my website for quite some time now. Sorry about that. Before the opportunity slips away, like time seems to do so quickly these days, I am writing to invite you to a fun event tonight. The Island Illustrators Society is putting on another group show. This one’s theme is erotic art, and the title is “Naughty Bits Now Showing”. Tonight is our reception, from 7 to 10 pm at the Community Arts Council gallery in downtown Victoria. Here are the details:

February 4–10th 2010
Naughty Bits Now Showing, an Exhibition of Erotic Art
by members of the Island Illustrator’s Society
at the Community Arts Council Gallery, G6-1001 Douglas Street, Victoria BC.
Gala Opening on Friday February 5th 7–10 pm. Adults Only.

The opening will be fun because people are coming in sexy outfits and flirting in the spirit of the show. We have fabulous food and wine to share with you, including an edible erotic art display. Bring your valentine and let’s have a hot date together tonight! See you there.

Yeah, call me a scrooge, too. I just don’t like most Chhtrimas/soliday music and would much rather listen to the same ol’ music I listen to during the rest of the year.
