New! Classes and Workshops (2011)

I harvested this bouquet from the garden and drew it with ink on paper.

Happy New Year!

2011 has begun with a lot of happenings in the studio and new projects out in the community.

Starting next week I will be offering some fun art classes for adults and teens at the Juan De Fuca Recreation Centre in Colwood and some workshops at the Coast Collective Art Centre by Esquimalt Lagoon. See below for information and how to register. (Note – this post was written in 2011, and these classes are already past.)

Coming up at the end of January I will be participating in the 2nd Annual erotic art show, MORE Naughty Bits Showing by the Island Illustrators Society. This will be a fun pre-Valentine’s date and promises to be even better than last year! Here is the show invitation.

The opening reception will be held January 28 from 7:00 onward at the Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria, G6 1001 Douglas St (Sussex Courtyard). Last year’s reception was great fun; this year’s promises MORE! Come dressed in your foxiest attire, bring a date and enter to win fabulous prizes! PLEASE NOTE: This show is open to ADULTS only! Hope to see you at the show!

In the studio I am making further explorations into linocut printmaking, as well as painting some pet portraits and nature illustrations.

We had a quiet and wonderful holiday with family and friends. It’s hard to believe how fast the time is going. I hope everyone is keeping warm on this chilly January day. There are snowflakes falling outside and they are starting to stay! We may have a blanket of white by morning. But already in my garden there are bulbs poking up from the soil and the promise of spring is just around the corner!

Best wishes to all!

Caroline
