Got a few supplies at @opusartsupplies today, all to further my non toxic oil painting adventures. Walnut alkyd medium, non toxic solvent substitute, a paint tube squeezer and a tube opener tool, and barrier cream for my hands to protect me from absorbing pigments through my skin. Tomorrow I will try them out! #oilpainting #artsupplies #painting #artistslife
Plein air studies today for a painting commission. My dog Elska helped. Cattle Point, Victoria, BC, Canada. #sketching #watercolours #westcoast #vancouverisland #painting #silkenwindhound
Quality time with his dogs on the water. Sidney Island, BC. #westcoast #salishsea #lovedogs
Barefeet in the sand while I sketch on Sidney Island. #sketchbook #watercolours #westcoast
I visited SḴŦÁMEN (Sidney Island) for the first time today. The WSANEC School Board took all of our staff there for a day of cultural and nature learning. After attending all the morning workshops I sat in the sand to paint this scene in my sketchbook. #watercolours #sketchbook #pleinair #westcoast #salishsea #coastsalishterritory
Found a patch of very rare native flowers today! I won’t say where. They are deltoid balsamroot I think. Look a lot like a sunflower.
