Beautiful day with forest sunlight. #forest #fall #sunshine #vancouverisland
I’m known for doing pet portraits but I also like to paint people! Here is my most recent watercolour portrait of my friend Catherine and her silken windhound Gryphon. I’m practicing on my friends because faces continue to be very challenging and very satisfying! Watercolours make it even more difficult but I’m getting better all the time. #silkenwindhound #petportrait #watercolours #dogportrait #painting @catherine_adela @silkengryphon
Today’s teaching demo - various approaches to shading, on white paper with pencils, on graphite-toned paper with pencils, on ink toned paper with conte, and on ink toned paper with pencil (unfinished). #artteacher #drawing
Two projects finished, one still in progress. Fingerless mitts and a matching neck warmer. Large Cowichan-style wool bag. Still needs seams stitched up and some antler buttons, and a strap. Not an actual Cowichan product, please note, because I am not Indigenous. I made this as a part of my learning while co-facilitating a Coast Salish cultural crafts program at my school. #knitting #fibreartist
Blocking some knitting projects. A bag, mittens and a neck warmer. #knitting
I made this hand knitted bag. It’s my own pattern. Dyed it with synthetic indigo. Stitched on and gathered the striped sash at the sides to make a carrying strap. My dad and I made the elk antler buttons. Now that it’s finished I really like it, but I’m not sure what I will do with it. #knitting #dyeing #antlerart #wool #crafts
